It w ill be held to determine whether or not the voters like the site back of the county shed. The only legal way the school board can determine where to put the school is by election. It can have one election at which several sites were voted on w ith the site receiving the largest Votp chosen. It can have a series of elections until the voters ap prove one site. The latter way has the advantage of giving a de finite answer. The new school building la to cost 1310,000. That is more than the present valuation of the entire town. It should be a build ing in which the community can take pride. It should not be stuck 'back out of sight where the view from Its windows w ill be res tricted to a moat unlovely ad dition to the county court house, the disarray that always accom panies a machine shed and the city dump in the middle distance. The new building should be in a spot where It can be seen by as many as possible and as often as possible and, if possible where the view from the build ing is pleasant. •If the vote on this site la un favorable the board w ill propose another one. _ *___ 81MMKR ,4 t is now officially summer. Folks have found means of keeping warm without the sun. No one "hunts for a nice sunny spot nowdays; he merely turns up the furnace. It Isn't like the old days in the b e g i n n i n g of mechanization (which is often called civilization* when one had to be heated,, by the sun or be cold. Summer is a time for scanty clothes, vacations, less work' and for some crops, harvest. Ils one time terrors have been relieved by the Invention of refrigerators and air conditioning. Mechaniza tion has made people more com fortable.
