High scores for the evening w e r e h e l d by Mrs. John Decker and Glenn Perry and consolation prizes went to Mrs. W. S. Holmes and Fritz Roh we- der. Refreshments were served at the close of the evening of cards. The next card party will l>e held at the Kent I^egion hall 'Monday February 11. Those pre sent from Grass Valley were the Myrle Smiths, Donald von Bor- stels, Marcus Eslingers, Glenn Perrys, John Buether Jrs, and the Ted von Borstels. Mrs. Archie Cantrall and her sister in law, Mrs. Kendrick Dun lap, gave a party at the school house at 3 o'clock Thursday af ternoon celebrating the birthday anniversary of Gene Cantrall invited were the pupils of the seventh grade, Jerrine Blaylock, H arry Eakin, I^arry Easter, Je r ry Adams, Jim Brady and Gene Cantrall and their teacher, Don Keiper. Refreshments of decor ated birthday cake, ice cream and punch wer< served in the school cafeteria. Mrs. Don Keiper and Mrs. Frank E. Bayer were hostesses, assisted by Mrs. Bud B rinkert at a party Thursday afternoon at 2:15 at recess tirhe, at the form er's home honoring Mrs. Alta Crowley on her birthday anniver sary. Guessing games were play ed and the one with the right answ er received a prize ami f-o on until each received a prize and then the one with the rig h t answ er could take the prize they wanted from someone else and so on for a while. Mrs. A. S. Al berty received a door prize. Mrs. Crowley then opened her gifts after which salad, cake and tea were served by the hostesses. Those present were iMlrs. Alfred Payne, Mrr. They brought Dave Vintin of Carlton, Wn., hack with them to spend a few days here with his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Frank T. Bayer.
