Martin has just returned from Korea where he was an observer of agricultural practices attach ed to the army for the past two years. Asa Eslinger, who visited here with his son Ernest and family for a week or so this fall, re turned* to his home a t Forest Grove last week. Harry Kunsman and Free Crews left early Wednesday morning for the Blue mountains where they are searching for JOURNAL, MORO, OREGON The old Foss Garage is being remodeled somewhat to make it conform more closely with the needs of the local highway crew. New gas and fuel tanks are be ing put in and a general clean-up being made. Collis Moore returned Tues day night from a hunting trip to .Pendleton. Darwin Van Gilder had the misfortune of stepping on a rusty nail Monday while working at the newly acquired state garage, which necessitated a trip to the hospital and a few days day-off from the state highway work. Mr and Mrs John Foss went to The Dalles Monday to attend the funerals of 'John McDermid and W. F. Jackson. The Civil Service commission announces that an examination for substitute clerk for the Moro postoffica will be held November 20 at 8:30 a .m. at The Dalles. Morgan of Moro was married Wednesday, October 27, at Goldendale, Wn., to Joe Dimmick of McMinnville, Her brother Ariel of Arlington and wife accompanied the newly weds to he married. Mr and Mrs Harold Ginn are home again after a trip around Nevada to Carlsbad caverns in New Mexico. Mr and Mrs Guy Weedman of Portland made the trip with them. Ray Blake, with his son in law, Scott Fortner, with some friends were here to the second day of the bird hunting but found the birds pretty well scar- ed of guns and • men by that time.
