Balzer Announcement of the engage ment of Miss Eileen Lemley to Menrett Diehm was told at a lun cheon at the home of the bride- elect’s parents. No wedding date has been set. The bride-elect Is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Arzell Lemley of Grass Valley and is a student at the University of Oregon. Mr. Diehm is the son of Mr and Mrs Diehm of Salem and is a student in architecture at the University of Oregon. He was in the service as a pilot and served over Italy. Guests at the luncheon includ ed Mrs Donald Clodfelter and daughter, Carol, Mrs -Ralph Bol en, Mrs Frank Pavne, Mrs Oscar Lemley, Mrs Ted Ball, Mrs A. A. Dunlap, Mrs Gordon Ix*mley, and Miss Gloria Douma and Miss Katie Geiser of Moro. Mr and Mrs Frank Bayer Jr., were hosts at a dinner Sunday honoring the birthday* anniver saries of Frank Bayer Sr., and Mrs Claud Bayer. Other guests included Mirs Frank Bayer, Claud Bayer, and Mr and Mrs Charles Perrlgo and daughters. Mr and Mrs T Jones, parents of Mrs Claud Bayer, stopped to visit a while on their way home to Moro from Tygh Valley. Mr and Mrs Roy Schilling and son. Gary, were dinner guests at the home of Mr and Mrs Ted Trimble Easter Sunday. Mr and Mrs Alvin Wagon-blast and son of The Dalles spent Ea ster Sunday at the home of her parents, Mr and Mrs A. W. Mc Leod. Mr and Mrs A. F. Balzer, Mr and Mrs Gus Hartmann of Wasco and Mr and Mrs Charles Hart mann of The Dalles were dinner guests Easter Sunday at the home of C. R. Bruckert Io The Dalles. Mr and Mrs Art Bibby and daughter, Janice and Mr and Mrs James Easter were business visitors in The Dalles Thursday. Miss Anna Huhman of Sandy spent the week end as a guest of Martha Bardenhagen. FRIDAY', APRIL 2, 1!)4« Mr and Mrs Roy Wells and sons, David and Donald, arrived Friday from Glide to spend Eas ter with her parents, Mr and Mrs T. M. Rolfe. They went to The Dalles Saturday to visit their daughter, Mrs L. Brockway, and the new; grandson, Bradley Ray. ! ■•* •*(•!■ Mir and Mrs W. F. Schilling and Mr and Mrs W.* C. Todd were dinner guests Easter Sun day at the home of Mr and Mrs Art Schilling. Mr and Mrs Ed Alley left Sat urday evening for Cascade Locks where they were guests at the home of their son and daughter in law, Mr and Mirs Bruce Alley. Mr and Mrs John Block and Mr and Mrs Don Smith and son, Larry, motored to The Dalles Saturday evening and stayed all night at the Don Smith home. Sunday morning all left for Cas cade Locks accompanied by Mr and Mrs Roy Feely, Mrs John H«<ys, Mrs Gus Smith, Mr and Arch Zehner and Mr and Mrs Maurice Feely and daughter to Join the Alley families and mo tored to Eagle Creek where they all enjoyed the picnic dinner and the day visiting. Mr and Mrs Marion Crews of Stevenson, Wn., and Mr and Mrs F. M. Crews from Wasco were dinner guests Saturday evening at the home of the former Mrs Crews’ parents, Mr and Mrs Dell Olds. Mir and Mrs Grover Young and Mr and Mns Joe Bibby were din ner guests Easter Sunday at the heme of Mr and Mrs Harry Young. Gerald Blagg, Mrs J.' W Blagg, and daughter, Marie, were busi ness visitors in The Dalles Tues day. Mr and Mrs Ivan Blagg and family and Fred Raven were din ner guests at the home of Mir and Mrs J. W. Blagg Easter. Quite a few people from Grass Valley attended the high school play “The Hoosier Schoolmas ter” in Moro Thursday night. Mrs Art Bibby and children, Stephen and Janice, Mrs C. R. Anderson and Larry Easter were business visitors in The Dalles Monday. » Mr and Mrs Harry Stark were in The Dalles Sunday to spend the day with her mother, Mrs Eltie McDonald. Dugger went to Wamic Wednesday where she was an overnight guest of Mr and Mrs Mack Alsup, they all left Thursday for Gresham to at tend the funeral of J. H. Dugger, returning home the same even ing." Mr and Mrs Clarence Payne of Portland visited a while last Sunday at the home of Mr and Mirs Edgar Alleyv Gerald Blagg arrived Sunday night from Portland to spend several weeks at the home of his parents Mr and Mrs J. W. Blagg. Mirs Bud Brinkert, Mrs John Rust and her aunt, Mrs Roy Hay nes were in The Dalles Saturday on business. Mr and Mrs Warren Morgan arrived Wednesday from Wiscon sin and are at the home of his aunt and uncle, Mir and Mrs Bert Cox.
