all kinds of income. Pensions
would be as large as the fund

per month. The m easure Is econ-
omically impossible and would
handicap all business and Ihdus-
try in Oregon. Every transfer of
goods would entail a 3% tax.
W heat, for instance, would under-
go at least five transfers from
farm to consumer, m aking a 16%
tax. There are no exemption«
from the paym ent of the tax,
n eith er labor, cost of goods, taxes
nor other expenses.

1910 and farm ed southw est of
Grass Valley until several year»
ago when he moved to Grass Val-
ley, w here he lived un til hte death
in The Dalles Saturday, October
26, 1946 at the age of 72. He had
been 111 for over a year,
Surviving are his wife, Aman-
da, one brother and one sister in
Finland and one brother in San
Pedro, California.
