Being Conducted
In This County
A nother cost survey, to continue
the first one made five years ago
by the late A. S. B u rn er, is being
conducted in this county th is week
by W. W. Gorton, an assista n t of
Mr, B u rn e r in the fo rm er survey
and Allen Tom, son of Mr. and
M r/.TZurt Tom of Rufus.

based on 20 farm s in this countv.

farm s, and in addition to wheat
the new survey will contain d ata
on the value and cost of crested
w heat g rass and tra sh y fallow.
The first survey was haaled as
thi first real inform ation on the
cost of producing w heat since the
federal governm ent sen t men over
this county in 1920. It ahowod the
cost of each* farm operation, the
overhead cost of taxes, interest,
etc., which to g eth er w ith the value
of the product gave a basis for
estim atin g the efficiency of the
operation and the value of the
land used.

Kent Auxiliary Meets
At Grass Valley
The Kent Auxiliary o f the Amer­
ican Legion, m et with Mr«. Ted
Everett in Grass Valley Wednes­
day afternoon. A program on
Brazil was featured. Mia. Willard
Barnett gave an instrumental
solo and Helene Lemley conducted
a quiz program on Brazil. The hos­
tess presented the winning aide
with a box of Brazil nut chocolate«.

Plans were made to serve a ban­
quet for county teachers on March
18. and to have the final card par­
ty in the series on March 29.
