Word from Corvallis is to the effect that George Hennagin, son of Mr. »nd Mrs George Hennagin, is engaged to Miss Helen Burfeind of Oxnard. California. His heart has caus ed him some worry lately also and he will’ stay for an indefinite period. Mrs. L. E. Clark, who has been in Portland, is home again. Mr. and Mrs. George Wilcox and son George were in Portland the first of the week on business and personal matters. Art Bibby was in The Dalles Tuesday on business connected with his cafe. W. N. Sipe, well known sales man for farm machinery, was here this week to visit farmers in the interest of his company. Several flamilies have children who are undergoing their seige of the measles. Among them reportea are Wayne Spoor, John McNeil and Herman Schilling. The small son of Mr. and Mrs. Millard Eakin has been ill this week. Rain in copious quantities fell this week to make things look brighter for the farmers of this vicinity. L. K.
