Members and friends of the 20-30 Sunday school class of the Presbyterian church held a “pro gressive dinner” Wednesday eve ning. Hostesses were, the Misses Craig, Radke and Hult; Mrs. M. Oveson; Mrs. Roscoe Moore; and Mrs. Lawrence Mitchelmore. Eighteen were present. parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. V.* Moore and attend the dance. ; Georgy Updegraff and wife came home from California Sunday af ter spending ten days there visit ing. Primary reason for going was the game between Stanford and California. Percy Thompson was taken tc the Veteran’s hospital last week with what is thought to be diabetis. He is very ill. Roscoe Moore and Lloyd John- * son are busy these days setting and watching ^a line of traps that they put out Wednesday along the river. Work on the road was tempora rily baited Monday in the Kent neighborhood on account of frozen ground. . . The Woman’s Missionary Socit- ty will meet at 2:00 p. m. Mrs. Charles Ruggles entertain ed in honor of, Mrs. Larner Sayrs Friday of last week. Four tables of bridge were in play and th;: guest of honor was given a show er of bridal gifts. Fred Winebarger with his wife and children were here wer the week end from Trout Lake. Wash., where they have beert living since leaving here several years ago. A large number of people at tended and apparently had a.very enjoyable time. The dance, with music furnished by local musi cians. was well attended by the specially-invited alumni of the high school. Three students in the high school have a straight-one grade average for the last six week period. These are Dorothy Fraser, Lois Melzer and Barbara Belshe. Two students had an average of one-minus, Dor is Thompson, and Marie McLeod. Dorothy. Fraser accompanied Mr. Kruse to Corvallis, where she visited her brothers and friends during the Thanksgiving holidays Among, the alumni who spent the Thanksgiving holidays in Moro were, Lavon Sayrs, Marjorie Byers Jean Powell, Harpld Thogerson- Orval Thogerson, and Imogene Johnson. GV Girls Start Basketball Work By Janet Wilcox The girls began basket ball practice just before the Thanks giving holidays began. Twelve girls are trying out for the squad and the first game will be played against Moro on the Grass Val ley floor December 13. Last week was spent in taking Six Weeks examinations. Mon day morning the report cards were passed out and were re ceived with great enthusiasm by some, but others were disappoint ed. The honor roll received one new member but dropped off one of its previous members so there is little change. The Senior mem bers are: JCeith Rhinehart, 1.00; Cora Bayer, 1.25; Katheryne Bur ton. 1.50 and Janet Wilcox, 1.00 The Junior member is Frances Fairchild with a percentage of 1.00.
