Even men not directly sonnected with the pa geant have been wearing old time whiskers and costumes, while wo men of the city have appeared on the streets clad in quaint and cha rming pioneer costumes. He said he finds that Dr. Johnson is undoubtedly the outst anding authority in thecountry on this national problem, but that with the discontinuance of the fund for this work the research is lav guishing.
