This is only one of many similar cases brought to our notice: University Turk, Or., May 19, 1899. Editor Oregonian : Some two weeks ago or more I said something of regaining my hearing under the treatment of l)r. Darriii. o f w hich 1 had suffered for several yaars On tiie nrst application the deafness of one ear (t he left) was remedied. The difficulty of the other was more serious, and the doctor remarked that, tinless I could en dure the pam, so that he could get at and examine it, he feared he should not he able to cure it. I took medicine home ami applied it that evening. The next day I lav upon the left side two hours, with the right ear full or medical ear oil. After noon I went to the doctor again, who seemed to he pleased with evident signs of improvement. I applied the medicine again laithfully two evenings at home, and t h e next day w ent to the doctor, who suc c e e d e d ill entirely restoring the lost sense “‘"‘ring, so that when 1 went out upon lliird street—Portland—it seemed to be t h e n o i s i e s t city I was ever in.
