Investigation dis closed the fact that th » little girl, who ia only ten years of age, was suffering from appendicitis, and | the doctor, deciding on operating, putting in a wire for Pr. Geiaen- dorffer, of The Pallet, who arrived that avening by ng. Pr. Logan informs us that as the operation progressed he found that it was a case of peritipbylilis,or an abscess in tb<* region of the appen dix, and one easily confused with ap|*endi<-itis without an operation 1» performed. The wonderful productiveness of Sherman county has never been fully understood, even by her own citixen*. Here ia a county that is about the smallest in area of anv in the atate, but when it com« * to wheat producing we find that one- eixth of the entire crop of wheat of tho state of Oregon is harvested iu this little county. Not only docs , she produce an immense crop of wheat, but barley, oat*, apples, peache*, plum*, and all kinds of vegetables flourish and yield in abundance. The people are wide awake and progressive, a* is evi denced by the good schoolhouses in every locality. Land is cheap, selling from 15 to 115 per acre, and all within cosy reach of market.
