Now is the time to attend to cutting and harvesting machinery. Mr». W alter Stanley arrived home from Portland yesterday. We are pleased to say she left Miss Rose greatly improved and gaining strength rapidly. Two hundred and aixty feet of ft-fnnt sidewalk has been put down in front of Mooro and Elrod's resi dences. This is a good pattern for other properly holders. Parties wanting timl»er claims will do well Vo write or see M. Fill- maurice, Moro, Or. John Walton of Monkland tells <4 a forest over ther» that looks tine. We never saw it, but take his word for its lieing all in bloom. He also says there are several bach- «dor farmer» in the Monkland neighborhood who have signs up, “Cook wanted any old thing will do.” The games of the season will be played baro today and tomorrow, between the Goldcndals and Moro teams. Our boya think they can make a better showing than they did at Goldendale, when they were Almost played out from being up all night and after a fatiguing game witli Wasco. The Little Giant thresher, »old by Moore Bros, »ft Ginn, Moro, is one of the best machines of the Itimi on the market. The thresher «nd gasoline engine to run it can be bought for a tithe of the price paid for the larger outfits. One of these machines threshed 116 sacks of grain in 4 hours on a farm near town last werk, from straw kept oyer from last year. A carload of dww*' machines, latest improved mid better than ovor, arc expected in town daily. Como in and figure .for the outfit. With ono of these you have a dead cinch on your -crop. No need to wait until your ■neighbor is through; you can thresh when you ph ase and witli dii» ordinary help on the ranch. The engineers op the W illamette and Columbia river steamboats have »truck for increased wages, and in consequence the river traf fic is at a standstill. L. 8. Hathaway, a timber locat or, was in town on Tuesday, b u n t ing parties to take timber claims The timlier all over Oregon ia be ing taken up rapidly, and those who want to get good claims have no time to lose. John McDermitt had a team of Clydesdale draught horses at the lior»e show at Wasco that are a credit to the county. They tip the scales at 1'. >00 pounds each, and ar»' splendid specimens of horse flesh. W. 8. Dickens was in town Mon day from Hood River. He is a native of Kyracuse, Nebraska, and a friend of H. A. Page and J. M Parry, who came from the same place. Mr. Dickens is well pleaecd with Sherman county, and will go into business in Moro. Hickson came home from Goldendale on Monday, and will resume his position in the bank here, Moore Bros, having sold their bank in Goldendale and needing Mr. Hickson's service« in Moro. He returned, and is to l»e found at the old stand, very much to our satisfaction. John Kunsman returned from a trip south on Tuesday. He has been rustling for Moore Bros dr Ginn, and has sold several of their Little Giant threshers with gaso line engine attach<xl. John also visited Lake'» sawmill to see if a trade in lumber cannot be opened up with this point. If you like the Bulletin, send on yonr dollar and you will get 62 numl*r» filled full o( news during the year. If you haven't got the dollar handy, just write ns (or call upon us), saying so, and we will send the paj>er right along, and you pay us at your convenience. Thia ia fair, is it not? R. J. Ginn returned on Monday from Denver, Colorado, where he attended the Bunday school con vention. He says Denver ia just one mile above sea level, and is a beautiful city. Mr. Ginn took a trip through Eastern Colorado and saw some very nice country; but was very glad to get home, all the same. The snow was G or S inches deep in Leadville as he passed through. There were 1600 dele gates at the convention, and some 5000 visitors. As we go to press the result of the baseball game Goldemlule vs. Moro has reached the office. The game was full of interest through out and ended in a victory for Moro, »core 11 to 9, Moro not bat ting in the last inning. A very unfortunate accident occurred in the sixth, when Pitcher Dunbar was struck in the arm above the wrist, completely knocking him out. Catcher Murphy of the Moro team played an exceptionally bril liant game, gathering in two hard fouls and doing exceptional throw ing to second. There were many excellent plays on the Goldendale side, their shortstop in particular gathering in everything that came his way.
