splendid success throughout tho Coun
ty, with extremely heavy co-oporntlon
from women's orpnnlzatlons which aro
active, not only In tho city of Hetul but
throughout Deschutes County.
"Wallowa to Be All Volunteers."
Tho commlttoo of Wallowa County
has asked that every ono innko their
purchases without solicitation. Volun
toers havo been asked to subscribe a
week in advance of tho beginning of
the drivo. It has also particularly re
quested that rosldonts of the different
communities bo careful to assign their
subscription to their own dlBtrlct.
"Washington County Depends on Pa.
trlotic League."
At the recent conference of tho
Washington County Board, tho Loun
committee decided to use the machin
ery of its well organized Patriotic
League. A canvass will bo conducted
with the school district as a unit, and
will handle their bonds through tholr
banks, crediting them to the bank lo
cated in the district.
"Yamhill County Women Active."
Women are taking an unusual Inter
est in the campaign In Yamhill County.
They are relieving tho men from many
of the duties of tho drives as they are
needed td harvest tho fruit crop and
other products.
"Polk County Enthusiastic."
I'olk County, according to report,
has plans under way of which It la
saying very llttlo. It Is very certain,
howevor, that tho quota will ba
promptly subscribed.
"Lincoln County to Use Soldiers."
With 3000 soldiers in Newport and
surrounding territory, tho Liberty
Loan Committee of Lincoln County
expects HubHtantlal assistance from
the men and officers situated thoro.
Lincoln anticipates no trouble In
sp'f-'HIy raising Its full quota.
"Jefferson Depends on Organization."
Under the leadership of Howard W.
Turner, whose record of efficiency Is
roroinmeiidatlon enough for any plans
that may bo under way, tho organiza
tion of Jofforson County Is complete,
with another patriotic record nH a goal
Madras is to have Its big "Mothers'
Parade" on September 21st. Hating
cards and subscription applications
will go out Hoptombor 17th. .Madras
plans to use slackor lists If necessary.

Linn County has Its campaign of es
tablishing quotas almost finished. It
