Tom Grant in concert Tom Grant and vocal- ist Shelly Rudolph appear at the Astoria Golf and Country Club on Sat- urday, Feb. 2. Their set highlights an evening of music and fi ne dining, with an evening opening performance by North Coast jazz standouts R.J. Marx and John Orr. Grant, master instru- mentalist, talented singer and natural enter- tainer nimbly walks the line between jazz tra- dition and modern pop. This soft-spoken Oregon native’s inspired song- writing produces propul- sive R&B grooves, infec- tious melodic hooks, and stylish ballads with equal ease. He plays jazz piano with harmonic sophistica- tion and a deep sense of swing. Rudolph has been singing, performing and composing for over 20 years. She is currently among the busiest vocal- ists in Portland, perform- ing regularly every week with her own projects as well as with Grant. Saxophonist R.J.
