TO STIMULATE interest in growing corn the Oregon Agri cultural College offers ten prizes for the best ears of corn grown by boys and shown at the State Fair. Entries must be made not later than September 22. Gilliam county boys raised some fine corn last year and they should make arrangements to compete for these prizes. TO REAP a crop you must first sow the seed and cultivate the ground. It is the same in business. Advertising is the seed in this case and the newspaper is the ground which will bring forth most bountiful returns. In sowing the advertising seed see that tha ground is in the proper state of cultivation, that is, select the newspaper which has the largest number of readers.
