LOCALS , F. B. Moore of May ville tran sacted business in this city Wed nesday. While in the city he called at this office and renewed his subscription to the Globe. Written invitations are out for a lawn party to be held on the lawn at Dr. Wood's residence this evening. Carnine & Linville's heading crew passed through this city early Wednesday morning on their way to harvest the crop on the Linville ranch. They had been heading on the Carnine ranch and report the results as being gratifying. J. E. Reynolds, the cattle buyer, came up on Tuesday even ing's train. Mrs. M. 0. Clarke returned Tuesday evening from an ex tended visit with relatives in Portland. Mrs. J. G. Lebor arrived in this city Tuesday evening. York Mrs. Coe Barnard returned the latter part of last week from a short visit in Portland. C. L, Prindle of Fossil was in this city the fore part of the week attending to business matters. Chas. Wilkins was up from Clem the fore part the week. Nat Scott of Lone Rock made a visit to Condon on Tuesday and returned the same day. A. Robertson returned Mon day evening from Portland where he has been the last few days attending to business matters. Dr. N. H. Pinkerton of the Federal Bureau of Animal In dustrj was in this city over Sun day attending to business con nected with office. LOST Black pocketbook containing considerable sum of money, Finder will please leave same at this office and receive a liberal reward. CUby Clarke returned Mon day evening from Portland where he attended the assembly as a delegate. Will Murphy, whose father was formerly pastor of the Con gregational Church here, and friend, Mr. Beats, arrived in town last Saturday and are working in the harvest fields. C. W. Harris of the Arlington Lumber Co. drove to Fossil yes terday to attend to several busi ness matters. He was accom panied by Roy C. Sheldon of the Globe's Reportorial staff. All parties having claims against the late H. L. McCann will please send bills to Mrs. H. L. McCann, Newport, Oregon. 17 d 18 Mrs. G. E. Townsend and fam ily left yesterday morning for Pendleton where they will visit for some time. M. J. Lynch and wife of Gwendolen visited in this city the first of the week. J. B. Goff of Lone Rock tran sacted business in this city on Tuesday. Mrs. C. K. Andrews and little daughter, Cleone, arrived in thi3 city for a few weeks' visit. They are staying at the Hotel Oregon. The local barber shops, fol lowing the example of most of the shops of Eastern Oregon, have raised the price of a hair cut from 25c to 35c. Hermiston Correspondent in East Oregonian; "H. Guy An drews, Hermiston's popular catcher, left for Wasco a few lays ago where he is planning to enter the real estate field. Mr. Andrews was one of the most popular catchers in the Ir rigation league and deserves much credit for helping the Hermiston team win the pen nant." Mr. Andrews was formerly in business in this city and was at that time backstop for the local teau. There will be no church ser vices in the Congregational Church during the rest of this month and through August There will be Sunday School as usual at ten o'clock each Sunday morning, to which all are invit ed. Also there will be Christian Endeavor every Sunday evening at 8 o'clock. Both young and old are invited to attend this service. You will find the meet ings interesting and -helpful as the young people are making a special affort to make them so.
