Johnson left last Friday morning for Portland to visit friends and relatives. She will attend the Grand Chapter of Eastern Star vliile in that city. Jas. Rogers returned last Sat urday evening from Portland. His stay in the Rose City has greatly improved his health. Fred Adlard was an outgoing passenger last Friday morning for California. Mrs. Ed. Dodson and children left on Monday morning's train for Clem. J. E. Mulkey left last Friday morning for his home at Rock Creek. S. C. Jackson wa3 an outgoing passenger for Portland last Saturday. H. D. Randall of Olex was in this city last Saturday. Chas. Horner went to Port land Tuesday to attend the Grand Lodge of Masons. He is a delegate from the local lodge. Ford Hendricks of Fossil, who has been attending school at Eugene, returned to his home at Fossil Monday. He is a son of II. II. Hendricks. Prof. A. K. Wilson of Fossil loft on Tuesday for Portland. Len. Hoffman, in the employ of Young & Angel at Fossil, .passed through this city Tues day on his way to Portland. J. R. Gill of Fossil is spending a few days visiting friends in our city. Mrs. J. B. Wright of Fossil passed through this city Tues day on her way to The Dalles to visit for some time with her mother there. Frank Mikkalo week. Lewis was up fiom the fore part of the Earl Smith, son of T. J. Smith of Fossil, passed through here the fore part of the week for Portland where he will spend the summer. Mr. Guy Hockett has been the guest of his sister, Wayfe, the past few days. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Church left last Saturday morning for Hood River where they will re main for a few days visiting friends and relatives. The auto, stage line which was run between Fossil end Con don has been discontinued on account of lack of business. J. F. Reisacher shipped five saddles the latter part of last week to different Oregon, Idaho and Canada points. E.Magee, the p'umber, made a business trip to Portland Sat urday. W. P. Weismandel left last Saturday morning for Canby, Oregon. J. E. Hunt has purchased the ! black driving team formerly owned by A. J. Shelton. They are both five year olds and are perfectly matched. He left Mon day morning for Portland. , Miss f Florence Wilcox , who has been visiting in this city for some time, returned to her home at White Salmon Tuesday. Her father, W. L. Wilcox, was forn ully Sheriff of Gilliam Oounty.' Jas. D. Burns and J. B. White started Monday for a two week's camping trip in the mountains and through Central Oregon. Mrs. Matthews, who has been visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hilderbrand for some time, left last Friday for her home at Furgrove, Idaho. Mrs. J. F.
