Mr. and Mrs. L Renri, of St, Paul, Minn., arrived in Condon Saturday to make their home in this city for some time. Mr. Renri is a barber and has taken the place of Fred Weiman in tha 0. K. barbershop. He is an ex perienced workman. .' While Mrs. Paul Brunzel was waiting for the train Wednesday afternoon, having left her team of horses standing unhitched, the animals became frightened at the engine switching toward the roundhouse and started on a dead run towards home, crossing the track a few feet in front of . the locomotive. Young, the baggage man on the "flyer" who has been ailing with some kind of back lameness, left Wednesday for a trip to Portland and Spok ane combining rest and business. J. E. Reynolds and wife, of Arlington, were Condon visitors Wednesday, registering at the Oregon hotel Charles Cason and familv. of Lone Rock, made a short visit with his brother. J. B. Cason of this place. Thev left for their home Wednesday. Monument enterprise. Erret Deck who has been in this city for the past year driving the hotel bus and the laundry wagon, left Monday for the old home on the Atlantic coast. He will visit relatives in Nebraska for a few weeks before contin uing eastward. The Arlington Lumber Co. has had a force of men at work the past week raising their ware house in this city. The floor is to be greatly strengthened and braced thus enabling the com pany to store a far greater num ber of sacks of grain than in previous years. Mrs. J. Irby and little daugh ter, of Laramie, Wya, are guests of Mrs. F. T. Hurlburt this week. Mrs. Irby has been vis iting friends in Portlandand at various points in Eastern Oregon for several months and expects to return to Wyoming in a few days. The 0. R. & N. While endeavoring to show the speed of his horse in the hopes of making a sale, at the race track late Sunday afternoon. Wm. Brunzel, of Brunzel & Son, sustained a severe fracture of the left leg just above the ankle. The horses were running at good speed when the animal ridden by Brunzel tried to break through an opening in the fence enclosing the track. Fearing that the horse would drag him along the fence and thus injure him, Brunzel jumped off but in the leap twisted his ankle and fell in such a manner as to break his leg.
