Miss McKinney was taking sub scriptions for the Oregon Jour nal as she is striving for a place in the contest, now conducted by that progressive newspaper. Miss McKinney now stands second in this district Eastern Oregon and Eastern Washington, in the Oregon Jour nal contest, being only a thous and votes behind the first place contestant.
