Williams has been re quested to address the Associ ation of Oregon's Retail Jewelers at their meeting in Portland dur ing the Rose Festival. The sub ject of his address will be "The Benefit of Organization." The fact that Mr.' Williams is one of the foremost officers of this association speaks well for his ability as an organizer as well as a jeweler and Condon should feel honored to be one of the few that are so well represented. Dr. Taylor, the veterinary, accompanied by Herman Pauling had a thrilling experience Tues day while driving out in the country to answer a calL They were driving down a hill when one of the horses kicked over the tongue, its weight breaking the tongue close to the buggy. Seeing trouble, Mr. Pauling jumped out while the doctor who held the reins, tussled with the frightened horses until the tugs broke loose. The horses plunged ahead with a clear field dragging the doctor over the dash board but in the fall cot away from him. The horses were caught while trying to re turn to town. Outside of a few bruises the worst that befell the eentlemen was the three and a half mile walk back to town, Dr. Taylor took a few stiches in one of the horses on account of a bad cut on barbed wire. Howard stnckler returned on Tuesday evening from a week's visit in the Rose City. On arriv ing home he found that four of his full blooded bullterrier pups had been poisoned and that only two of the six remained. Horsemen, AttentlonI One of the most important branches of Veterinary Science is Veterinary Dentistry, and this department in this country has been neglected owing to the scarcity of Veterinarians. The horse, after he has reached the age of five years, has a complete new set of teeth, and as he grows older and the teeth wear, they cause numerous diseases and dis agreeable habits, heretofore ascribed as constitutional trouble which have been traced to the teeth; such as blindness, drolling, stopping short, starting sudden ly, frothing, loss of flesh, weak eyes, driving and pulling on one rein. Rough edges and sharp corners of the teeth lacerate the mouth and produce nervousness and ir ritability; uneven and elongated molars and incisors prevent the proper mastication of the food, producing indigestion and gen eral debility. Decayed molars cause necrosis of the bone, ab scesses, nasal gleet fistula of the jaw, etc. Dr. L. L. Taylor, Condon, Oregon. Fleet Celebration at SEATTLE. For the above Occasion the O. R, & N.
