C9 forget that these men are too well known throughout this district for their dope sheets to have any effect They have been trying to create the impression that J. E. Burdett, who is an independ ent candidate for district attor ney, is not qualified for the office. Why do they do this? Perhaps they see that Mr. Burdett is gain ing ground among the republican voters of the district and has been endorsed by the democrats who are aware that he will fulfill the requirements of that office as stated in his announcement, and that he is in every way fully competent of properly discharg ing the duties of the office in question. One of the matters we would like to support with a score of votes is the proposition to change the state and county election to the first Tuesday in November. It would DUt us in accord with elections in other states and it would save the expense of an , extra election. There could be no loss and it would save the state thousands. But it would cut out a horde of election grafters. the will of the people and, there fore, duriiur my term of office if elected, 1 will always vote for that candidate for United States Senator who has received the highest number of the people's votes cast for that nosition at th general election next preceding the election of a United States Senator without regard to his pontics or my individual prefer ence.
