Henry Noel returned from Tortland Saturday evening, where he had been to attend the sale of a large shipment of hogs. Mr. and Mrs. John Jackson and children returned Saturday evening from a viait with relat ives in the Rose City. . Wm. Rhinehart came up from Portland Saturday for a visit with his brothers. Mrs. Eva Morgan, of Gilliam county, arrived in Coldcndale last Tuesday to spend the winter with her daughter, Mrs. Henry Teague. Goldendale Sentinel, M. J. Lynch was registered at one of The Dalles hotels the latter part of last week. One of the latest foreigners to take out citizenship papers in the United States is Paul Ferdi nand Rcike Belaskati Beilke. Paul, etc., etc, hails from Prus sia and it is said that when he came over some years atro it took the immigration officers 48 hours to unravel his name. "Paul" as his friends call him for short, is now a good citizen of this country ana resides in Oregon. Fred Wilson, of the law firm ofMenefeeA Wilson, and who has just returned from a business trip to Condon, says the people up that way are firm believers in the idea that this season is going to be as good as last to crops and business of every form.
