According to The Dalles Chron icle that city is afflicted with the religious meetings of that strange, emotional sect known as the Apostolic Faith or Pente costal Christians. They claim the power to speak in tongues, but in a communication to the Chronicle the writer refers to their meetings as a burlesque and says that the tongues that they speak sounds like the bab blings of an infant or the jargon heard in an insane asylum. Their faith was started in Los Angeles by a negro woman who was the first to be blessed with the gift of tongues. Later: The leader has been arrested and fined for disturbing the peace and the sect barred from the city.
