Main Street The Cooke Bros, and their big red "honker", arrived in town Monday afternoon running from Arlington to Condon in about four hours, a distance of 45 miles. Their machine is a tour ing car of the latest pattern. Last reports from The Dalles Sanitarium say that Mrs. J.- E. Stevens is improving daily and will be able to return home in a short time. This speaks very well of Drs. Geisendorffer and Gavey as the operation they per formed was a critical one at the best and demonstrates clearly the fact that the large cities and big hospitals do not necessarily have the best surgeons. The people of this section of Eastern Oregon should be proud of the fact that the medical profession is so well represented in their midst . Wm. Jost of Clem made a fly ing trip to Condon Monday eve ning. - E. M. Larkin, agent for the Best Combined Harvester, re turned on Monday from a trip over in Sherman county. Mr. Larkin reports a most successful trip, having sold nine machines over in Sherman and four over in the Blalock country. The wheat men of Eastern Oregon are be ginning to see the value of the Best machine as a sure handler of the season's crop out in good time.
