This is the quesiion that is being asked at the present time and answered affirmatively by the wise-ones in the rank of the democratic party. The demo cratic political leader have had their ear to the ground since the last presidential election. They have been looking for good presi dential timber and until the recent stampede for Bryan at the demo cratic conventions in the stales of Missouri, Arkansas, Idaho and youth Dakota, they were wavering between Bryan, Hearst and some conservative democrat from the Southern elates. The Bryan boom seems to have srtuck a popular chord within the. rank and file of the democratic party and Oregon dem ocrat are joining in the hue and cry. Rather than see Hearst the standard bearer at the next presi dention election, the conservative democrat have lined up for Bryan and it seems to be the consensus of opinion that ho will be the demo cratio nominee in 1908.
