1 Boston Lencr. The following letter was received from the Associated Woolgrowers' Co. ot Hot- ton, Muss., by Geo. Blake of this city It will doubtless b interesting to Gil' lini county wool grower. "The London sales opened today Sever! cables from there state thnt prices advanced from five to ten per cent, over last tale. The balk of the of' ferings were undesirable, the quantity offered wai 48,000 -tales lew than year go. The market eseited. Ther) is ev ery indication of a very active market with possibly very much higher prices the coming spring. We understand that, eastern dealers have attempted to contract in Montana Wyoming and Oregon but have not met with much success as the growers are holding their wool above the views the dealers. The market in Ifoatou very firm aud the wools are well sold out. This is the condition of the mar ket op to the present time." Judge Ellis of Pendleton, candidate for the republican notu'nation for Con gress mini the second district was in town this week in the interests of bis candidacy. The Judge has many friends in Gilliam county and made manr new ones this week. In this issue of the (ilork J. W. Iyer announces that he will again be a cmi.li date cor county commissioner. Mr. Dy er has served the county well in this of fice in the past and there seems to be no one w ho is opposed o his serving the county another term. T. U. Woodland of Rock Creek has announced his candidacy for the Repub lican nomination for County Julgt. Mr. Woodland is a strong man and would make an able officer. BUSINESS ITEMS.
