See his new display ad on another page. E. G. Merrifield the wejl known artist has completed a fine picture of the county officials and the Gilliam county court house. The picture is a large one handsomely framed and attracted innch favorable comment in the court house corridor where it wm placed on exhibi tion during court week. It seemed that the Deoitle of the mnntv nvwr toulivuil before seeing the picture what a particu larly handsome lot of fellows they have elected to look after county business. Hereafter the male renidents of the connty will find it difficult to get to come to town to pav their taxe or at tend toother matters at the court house because the women will want to come in their place. It wad remarked that never before in the history of the connty have so many of the fair" sex attended sessions of conrt as during last week and It is believed that as a matter of fact this picture was more of a drawing card than was the evidence in the murder trial. County Clerk Portwond, being the only timid bachelor in the lot has taken precautions against being kid napped by making himself Bcarce at the connty bnildine and fortifving himself down street. But thev'll find him : that picture will surely terminate hie hatpv, free bachelorhood. A-lL Ready for business H. W.
