Hawes & Price's well drill is operating this week on Charlie Baker's property in town. The well at Cooke Bros.' is .'- "completed at a depth of 153 feet with 43 v - feet of water. J. H. II. Little has lumber on the ground and baa started work on a building on the Clark property on Main street which be will occupy when completed as a confectionery store. Mr. Brown, a brick maker, arrived 8uuday to take a position iu Armstrong's brick j arc for the season. ' The yard is being put ia shape for business this . week. A lot of improved machinery will be put in to facilitate the work. The county records were moved Mon day from the old vault to the county J court room where they will be kept n-.- til the vault iu the new building iscom- pitted. A qoiet wedding was solemnized at the Condon hotel last Friday when Mr. Winnie Keiznr, of this place, and Miss Myrl le tiharp, of Mayville, were united . in marriage, Rev. ilealey, of the Con gregational church, olEciatiug. Carl Marqnardsen, of the Condon Mill'iig Co.. ieft yesterday for his former bme in Newton, Kansan, where he will spend two or three months for the ben efit of his health. Since having the measels, several months ago, Mr. Mar qnardsen has been troubled with a se vere cough and he believes t!.e milder climate of Southern Kansas will soon re store him to perfect health a hope in which his many Condon friends most ---veiljjxia., , O. He was at Shaniko the day the hotel was quarantined, butevad ed the officers and left town. His action at that tinid was severely cen en red as it was thought that he had been exposed to the disease but Kinersly seemed to think it a good joke on the health au thorities. He went to Prineville, back here for a day or two while selling to our merchants, then on to several railroad - points ami the disease did not make its appearance until he was on the train go ing home. He exposed to the dreadful disease no telling now many people on - the train, then carried it into his own fiome and exposed his family. He prob ably regrets all this as much as any one but all the regrets in the world won't save lives or preveut pits. Antelope Herald. Notice.
