The new machine Is an U-horse power engine with upriirht boilerwith a capaci ty for 800 feet depth. It is self propell ing when moving from one job to the next and is said to be a strictly modern and up-to-date machine. It iaexpected to arrive in 15 or 20 days and will be started to work on a new well for the city which will be put down to a depth of 200 fvet, or more if necessary to secure an adequate supply of water. Many persons are of the opinion that ar tesian water may be secured here by going down to a sufficient depth and the advent of this machine into the neigh borhood will make It possible to teet the truth or fallacy of thla opinion in better shape than has yet been done. The new firm has plenty of work in sight to insure them steady drilling for several months and it is probable they will keep the machine going day aud night after it U once started.
