Republican Convention, The republican county convention met last Thursday in Armory Hall. Most of the delegates arrived In town Wednesday afternoon and during the evening the leader were busy trying to bring some order out of the confusion Into which the hitler Moodv-Williamaon fight had thrown th party but without success. An effort wat mad to hold a caocu In th evening but that also failed o that when th hour for opening the conven tion rolled around no on seemed to know jut what the result would be. When the convention wa called to order Ueo. B. Dukek, of Mayvllht pre cinct, a Wlllamnon man, and C. A. Dan neman of Rock creek, one of Moodv'a ardent supporter, were placed In nom Iristlon for temporary chairman and the ballot on that proposition showed the trength of each faction to a man. Th vole stood 14 to 16 In Daiinemun'a favor and showed that the friend of th prea ent Conicreasman controlled the conven tion. J. F. Rttlaacher, also a Moody man was choten temporary secretary and af ter tha appointment of the regular com mittee and other routine work an ad journment was taken until 2 p. m. At the afternoon session th temporary organisation was made permanent and upon th adoption of the reort of the committee on credential the convention proceeded to the election of delegates to the state and congressional conventions and to the nomination ofaoounty ticket. Tha following gentlemen were placed In nomination for delegates to the state convention: Geo. Blake, W. II. Oil ell Jay Bowerman. C. A. Danneman, 8.A.D. Hoi ley, Geo Dukek, J. B. Goff, and 8.B. Barker. The first four named were elected by strict factional vote. The delegation Is for Moody and Geer. The nomination of the county ticket wa a tame affair, the only ImIIois which could be called close being for the four year commissioner and (or clerk. The immeiof those nominated with their respective vote follows, the first named being the choice of the convention : Judge W. J. Mariner, 19; George Ta- torn, 8; Blank 2. Rinehart, J. F. Cooke, O. 8. Palmer, A. 8. Rice, A. 8. Ilnllen and 8, 8. Grider. A. 8. Rice was nominated for constable, G. L. Neale for Justice of the peace and W. C. Caldwell for road supervisor.
