Delinquent Tax List Contract.
A contract for the publication of the
delinquent tas list wa let by thecounty
court Saturday. The Arlington Record
was the soeceeful bidder its bid being
9.00 per column brevier measure, a frac
tion under eix cents a line. The list
must be published in four issues of the
.paper and a copy of the paper must be
sent to each person whose name appears
in the list. The work roust lie carefully
compared and corrected and be absolute
ly correct.
The Weekly Times' bid was 7Js cents
a line for the same work.
The (ji.onK alflo submitted a bid of 14r
a line or $2T 66 cents a column which is
as low a price as the work can be done
for. The advertising space of thie paper
is worth a certain ligure and the county
will pay the same rate as any individual
no more ami no less, if it uccs such
space. The court did 'ight in accepting
t lie hmet tiid and it chould insist on a
first-class job. The county is in luck.
