Musgrove brought their baby to towu Monday for medical treatment. The child fas better yeiter lay and they expect to return borne today. Harry Ladd, of Clem, was In town Saturday. Mr. Iadd has accepted a position with the l'aclflc Coast Wire Trust Co., ot Portland, and will leave, for that place In a fow days to enter upon bis duties. A donation of lud bushels of fine ap ples has just been made to the parson age committee of the Olei church by A. A. Carothers, the well-known Kock creek fruit grower. The fruit is now on tale at the Cruiu mill on very reasonable terms. The proceeds will go into the parsonage fund. Proposed Changs In Arlington Road. After completing their work In the regular session ot the county court last week, Judge Mariner and Commission ers Dyer and Itoyer spent a day looking over the route of , proposed change In the county road between this place and Arlington. The members of the -court were accompanied on their tour of In spection by a number of cit'uens and the opinion of all seems to be that the nronosed ch nae Is a good one. The new route will leave the present road oil the ridge about live muei tins side of Clem and will follow down a , draw to Rock creek. At Olcx a new rs,!a will bo made ud the hill, starting at Randall's place and coming out at the bead of the present lane on houtticr Flat. ttlt claimed the new route will save two miles of distance between here and Olox, and that the new grade wilt not e i need 10 Inches to the rod. U. S perry, Tom Stubblefleld, 3. A, Woolory and Mat llolverson, well known citlxens of lone, were here Saturday night, having come across country from their town to Condon to look over the route of a proposed wagon road between the two places. Wm. Cooke end two or three other wheat talsert of this noigh borhood came back with them, having gone over the route Friday on the same errand. While in town the lone party called at the Qlohr office and reported ' that they believe the route to be a feast lie one, the distance between the two points being about 30 miles, and they believe a grade may be built up the hill on the east side ot Rock creek which will not exceed eight inches to the rod. They stated that it Is their intention to have a survey made at once and If their ' expectations as to the grade are realised they will make an effort to have the road built. OitlUiri and Morrow counties wll probably be asked for some help and a subscription paper will be circulated to make up the neoeesary amount. Mr, Bporry stated tbat, In his opinion, tho grade will cost about f 1000. The pro- . posed route will cross Rock creek at the old Downer place. .
