The Messrs Dunn will erect a substantial iron business block online site in the ootdfatant future to accom modate their growing mercantile busi ness. It is rumored that a movement is on foot to provide Condon with a modern hotel. No particulars are obtainable at thia time, but the report Is current that the town is soon to have a modern, first class hostelry which it is claimed Is needed to accommodate the increased trade which the growth of the town and country is responsible for. Articles of incor poration of the new railway company were filed Monday. The incorporators are D. It, Budd, M. Enright and E. E. Lytle, ail of Portland. The incorpora tors were chosen as directors. Officers were elected s follows; E. E. Lytle, president; D. R. Budd, 'vice-president; W. H.Moore, treasurer; Miss May En right, secretary; J, L. Jameson, chief engineer. The new line will extend from a point on the 0. R. it N. at or near the John Day and thence np that river to the mouth of Rock Creek; from thence to Canyon city, the tenninns. - It will be 160 miles in length. Engineers are al ready in the field making locations. President Lytle says that the line will be built at the earliest possible moment through Gilliam county. This will tap the line of the Columbia Southern at Canyon City, as alsoThe Dalles Southern at that point. The Oregon Southern will open op a rich agricultural country, filled as well with mineral riches and vast livestock interests, all directly tri butary to Portland. Oregonian.
