From Wheeling, W, Va., conies the report that within six month? a combination of the iron, steel and kindred industries will have been effected with a capital of $1,000, 000,000. It is described as "the kinj oftrusts" and the information is regarded as authentic Some of these "infant -industries" which have been so carefully nursed and guarded by government are getting decidedly obstreperous but so long a a maj trity of American farm-e-s and workingmen favor them on election d:iy they will continue to thrive. A ' prosperity"' s-trike-ison in Chi c.ig in which it is expected a half million men will be involved. It started with' the International As s wiation of Machinists against the Chicago Association of Machinery Manufacturers, and it is expected that it will extend to all ths metal workers in the country.. , So long as the laboring men and farmers see fit to stand in politically with the moneyed interests, no matter what ticket they vote, just so long may we expect to see such disturb ances in the field of capital and la bor. The workers are in the ma jority but they don't seem to know it. ' ''-. SUMMONS. tu tho Circuit Court of the State of Otvgmi.'rW UieComit? of fcilliam. Ntlllu .Vtkcaon, I'liilutttf, w. The Globe has heard of one or two voters in this couuty who have said that they do not intend to reg ister, that they have voted here for years without that formality and that they do not intend to be im posed upon. To all such we would say tint the registration law was enacted to prevent frauds and that the frauds directly aimed at have heretofore existed mainly in .Mult nomahjoounty. It was not possi ble to enact a law to apply to only one or two counties hence the ne cessity for registration in every county in the state, (iilliam coun ty voters who believe in a pure bal lot should not object to the slight inconvenience of complying with the registration law. They should gladly take the trouble to register if by so doing they can help to pre vent fraud in any part of the state. He Fooled The Surgeons.
