If Condon is to have a Fourth oT July celebration Ibis your it is time to begin making preparation for theevont. Only f. little more than two months remain to raake the arrangements and unless we act qaickly it may be too late. Con don has not celebrated for several rears and the Glcks believes it would be in order for the town to get up one of the biggest "howling ett celebrations, ever.held in East ern Oregon What say you citi zens? Shall we celebrate or shall we not? In Memorlam. Margerat A. Keys, the subject of this nxjmior, was born near Rmlmrjt, 1 u las Co. Oregon, Nov. IJth. 1878, did near Mavville. W tittle Keys, as sli a familiarly kneft n, a a young lady of rare (trout lee. She has been one of Gilliam Uoiiu tv's mort successful teachers, having graduated with honor from the InnVpetni itt adruiy of The Pailes with the '91 clasi A few Vear farther on, aut aiiitin liv ing hands decked her loved form in her graduating rohes; hut alas, this time for the silent tomb. Her death falls with almost crashing weight open ht?r hotiie, sspegcialy open her invalid father whose pride she was. It was oar privilege to kaow her in timately the last six years. We knew her ss one of the best and purest, hence, we recognize her loss aa moat eminent. BUe was sensitive, aiubirons, sympa thetic, the tear J?op springing to hei ive aa quickly a laughter to her lips. Often thy friends recall thy fi rm dear Maggie, sacredly they treasure the pleas ant hours spent io thy presence VVe turn to the vacant place left Ohlso dreary. Sadly they miss thy sweet Toice, and the S'insi ine of thy gentle smile that has fled forever. Surrounded by her parents, brothers and sisters, all nearest and clearest ht nature's ties, while a smile of heavenly bcaoty lighted her face, she sweetly fl asleep to awake no more on earm. He sides her njfud parents stie leaves tw sisters and one brother to mourn her loss. Ooe brother having preceded her many years to the farthershore.
