They had a terrible storm back East
recently. A Missouri editor wrote about
cyclone, saying that it turned a well
wrong end op in the state of Mississippi ;
turned a cellar upside dowu in Wis
consin, moved a township line in Ne
braska, blew all the staves ont of a
whisky barrel in Iowa amd left nothing
but the bnnghole; changed the day of
the week in Ohio; blew the hair off of
bald headed tian in Texas; blew the
mortgage off farm in Michigan ; blew
all the cracks out of a fence t Dakota;
took all the wind out of a politician in
Missouri.

of the neighboring cities, selling from
house to house a salve which he guaran
tee to core warts. All sensible people
knnw that the only way to remove a

which is afterwards to be buried by a

A, remarable law aimed at foreign im
migration went into efTect in Pennsyl
vania July 1st. It imposes a tax of three
cents a day on all employed unnatural
ized foreigners. The tax is to be collect
ed from the wages of this class, begin
nkttf July It. The bill will put about
$100,000 a year into the treasuries of the
various counties of the state. Oiie-half
goes' to the school fund on the basis of
the number of schools, and the balance
to the general expenses of the counties.
A local poet has jttet had a "spasm"
and this ia the result of it: "Into the
cow-lot bright and gay, the milkmaid
hustles from day to day, and gathers the'
lacteal fluid white while the morning
aun is yet out of sight. Hot winds may
blow, and grasshoppers hop, and the
bugs and drouths may do up our crop,
bat as long as the stream of milk don't
top, the cow and the milkmaid will
come out on top."

the people all of the time."

excellent range at the forks of Mink horn
and Beaverdam creeks. My separating
corral will be at my own ranch. I
will make one delivery of bucks at Con
don on the 18th of October and the re
mainder at Lone Rock on the 25th of
October, 1897. I will charge one dollar
per head for all bocks placed in my care.
