The policy announced by the receivers and land department of the Northern Pacific railroad of disposing of the company's lands at prices close to the government figure, upon easy terms of 10 anual payments and with 6 per cent in terest, and then only to actual set tlers, will do much to bring in im migration and build up the coun try. Cheap land will bring immi gration, and immigration in turn will increase land values. Nothing else can do it. Pittsburg Dispatch: "A Kansas man and his wife spent a fortune in sueing each other for divorce. After they hadotten rid of all their money they concluded to live hap pily together in poverty. This is a new demonstation of the theory that the way to get any satisfac tion out of wealth is to spend it. The Call, of San Francisco, is going to have the finest home of any newspaper in the United States. Claude' Spreckles, the sugar king, will build it. The magnificent marble palace will be 315 feet or fifteen stories high and capped by a ihuge dome. The minister of agriculture in forms us that the- world's wheat crop of 1895 is 232,000,000 bushels .'less than that of 1894. The traveling public will be glad to , learn that the O. R. A N.
