Your condition in this matter would lead me, were I an editor of these papers, to throw in the waste basket any communi cations sent in by any society, the members of which are too proud or too stingy to take a paper, or if I inserted it, to demand full ad vertising rates for every line pub lished. This same rule applies to politicians and all others who usually have a weakness to want boosted into lucrative positions by free advertising from the newspa pers. Ontario News. Justice Jackson's death reduces the number of Democratic members of the supreme court to three, as compared with five Republicans. Probably a Democrat will be ap pointed in his place, which will make the count four to five. How ever, the partisan complexion of the members of this tribunal makes little or no difference in their atti tude towards the questions which re likely toeonie before them here After. Neither partisan nor sec tional lines were revealed in the income tax decision.
