A butcher was in town Wednesday looking over prospects to open a new meat market in Beaverton. Mr. and Mrs. G. J. Acklen. who re cently sold their property south of town and moved to Portland, were out to the Grange dinner Wednesday nigni. . mra. acicien is teaching in the Portland schools at University Park and Mr. Acklen is employed in a Port land drug store. Five foreigners passed a good ex amination on naturalization day, Wednesday of last week, the exami nation being held by Judge. Bagley. Those who took the examination and passed were: George Boras, of Aus tria; Christ C. Otness, Norway; Wil iam Rulff , Russia: George Wise, Rus sia; RJoland W. S. Hamer, England. Attorneys W. G. Hare and M. B. Bump have for several months been giving instructions on the constitu tion, which has been a great benefit to these people, who desire to take out naturalization papers.'
