They had an enjoyable time. Road Supervisor Wadsworth and crew have been busy grading the county road this week. Miss Bertha Reusser was home on a visit last' Sunday. " All the students are striving hard to win the gold pen in the penman ship contest this week. Ross Hiddleson is home from Ore gon City, and is plowing for Charles .Barron. ' ..Cooper Mt. boy scouts camped out in the woods down near Huber last Friday night. No bears happened to come by camp during the night, but there was some excitement next morning when the boys were cook ing flapjacks for breakfast throw ing them about ten feet in the air and catching 'em in the frying pan. John Huber is cutting rye 4-ft. high for his dairy cows. , A new back-stop is being erected at the school grounds for the base ball game May 23. . The students are now getting ready for a good time. ' John Huber and others have do nated a number of days work in e pairing the east road to Beaverton. A country school is a good place to "make things go." Some of the arithmetic classes . have completed two years' work in one. At the pic nic; parents will see how the little folks "make the chalk fly" in the ciphering contest, Mr. Bertsch has been busy plant ing garden this week. Mr. Gates has a big collection of rabbits weighing from 4 .to 12 pounds each. At present the market price is 38 cents per pound. The Girls' teams in the relay race are drilling. Ruth Walker, Millie Jac obsen, Norma Sams,. Dorothy Cole and Dollie Walker are in the race against Gertrude Oberg,Bernice Bar ron, Myrtle Walker, Alice Blomquist and Vivian Oberg. ' EARL E. FISHER. A few weeks ago when she gave neigh borly care to Mrs. William Bahr dur ing the latter's illness and helped with the last sad rites at her death it was with no thought of reward, but the other day when Ed. Wolf and Chas.
