WAR SAVINGS DRIVE IS STILL SHORT OF.QUOTA Report Shows that $12,910 Has Been Pledged or Purchased, But $5,690 Still Lacking. Despite the fact that a mons ter mass meting was held on June 28 and that committees have since canvassed the district to secure pledges, School District 48's quota of $18,600 has not been pledged for the War Sav ings Stamps and the combined effort has produced only $12,910 of this quota, leaving a shortage of $5,690 yet to raise. The appeal is to be made to the pride of the members of the dis district to fill its quota without additional solicitation and it is hoped that the nride of the resi dents of this district, the excel lence of the investment and the ease with which this security can be converted into cash will combine to put the quota over within the next few days. The Fourth Liberty Loan is -coming in October and Novem ber and it will entail too much work for those on whom this du- . tv has fallen to make an addi ' tional canvass for the War Sav j ings Stamps. If you don't believe this, ask some of the successful men you know. How many prosperous men succeed without some connection with a good bank ? Few, indeed. We stand ready to help you.
