The new ones are: Harry Sevik, Dina Anderson, Elsie Ger ber and Sadie Pondelick. The first.district to report for the Honor Roll in War Savings is District No. 96, Mountain Home, M. N. Bonham, teacher. Every pupil and teacher is a War Saver. .: The teachers had a fine meet ing at Sherwood, March 9. State Superintendent Churchill made a fine talk on High Schools and one on the Course of Study for Grades. Mr. Maris, State Indus trial Club worker, was present and told of the value of that work and plans for promotion. Prof. Patton's talk on Play and Miss Wood's class demonstra tions were of especial practical value. There was considerable discus sion of the effect of the extra war work on the regular work of the schools. This was led by Prof. Reinemer and Mrs. Dow. The work in reading, history, ge ography and composition seems to be helped and the other sub ject not hindered by the inter est in war work. The people of Sherwood gave the teachers a cordial reception and a fine dinner. Mr. Maris is working in Wash ington County this week and next and will visit as many schools as possible in the inter ests of industrial work. . ...... . . War Work Report. The game last Friday night was the biggest succes of the year, the score being 56 to 19 in favor of our boys. When we heard that the boys were going to play Hill Military Academy, some thought that a pretty big name, but we soon found out that the name was larger than the boys. Of course, largeness doesn't always count, but it did in this instance. The girls' team was heard to declare that they would play the second half with the visitors. It seems that the visitors forgot to bring their rooters along. Mini Lena Matzke was missed from classes all day Wednesday Maybe she has the measles. No one can get into the Domes tic Science room these days un less he has the "pass-word" or a skeleton key. . Miss Delia Allen will favor the assembly with a solo Friday morning. i Archie Rodman was absent from school Wednesday. He thinks it is measles. H. 8. started out on an other six weeks with clean re am!. The exams, are over and na one has succumbed yet. ex cept Luclle and Vena who think the exams, will surely give them the measles.
