Pendleton papers report that word baa been reoeived tbere from Con gressman Sinnott stating tbat tbe Bouse baa approved the items in tbe Indian appropriation bill, providing fnndg and authorizing the construc tion of the two wagon bridges over tbe Umatilla river at Mission and Tborn Hallow crossing. It also said that the two Oregon Senators are in clined to support this appropriation, so the prospeota of securing tbe bridg es are considered favorable. The Atbena Bigh Sohool girls' aud boys' basket tall teams won bath games of a donble-beoder last Satur day nigbt from Columbia College end Dayton High school, respeotively, the girls' score being 28-16 and the boys' 27-21. Both games were exceedingly interesting. - . Tbe girls' game was played with one line, wbiob made it much faster than the two-line game. Pauline Myriok made four baskets from tbe foul line and Kathren Froome threw two Held baaketB io tbe that half making four points eaob. Jennie Cass one of the Columbia forwards, made three field baskets and two foul baskets in the first half, and Myrtle 1 Cox, the other Columbia forwaid, scored one field basket and two points from tbe toul line making tbe soore 12 to 8 in favor of Columbia at the end of the Brat half.
