The general publio will sigh a sigh of relief when tbe Tbaw case has ceas ed to occupy space in tbe daily press. Whatever tbe result of tbe trial tbe people are getting tired of tbe whole matter. It was a case of too muob money with tbe young Englishman at Port land, wbo, efter reoeiving a remit tance of $350 from borne, deserted bis ship and now cannot be found. Tbe tariff bill is passed and signed and tbe president was forced to come oat and say be thought tbe bill was a fulfillment of bis party's pledges.
