A great change has been made dur ing the preaont year in tbe method of conducting the annual class "fcrap" between tbe freshman and sophomore classes at Whitman. Heretofore tbe class "scrap" has been allowed to take its own course. It bus dragged along all through tbe college year, not only making it disagreeuble for the members of tbe two lower classes but for tbe rest of tbe institution as well. . According to tbe plan which has been submitted to the two classes for consideration, by a momber of tbe fao ulty, the class "scrap" will hereafter come off on an appointed day, which day shall have been well advertised iu advance. The days program shall te entirely under tbe supervision of tbe upper-classmen of tbe colloge who will carry out tbe program, aot as judges of all contests and deolare tbe wiuners.
