William Willaby, sr., who went to Portland recently, is now visiting friends iu the Willamette valley. Mrs. John Stantou and Miss Nellie Royce will spend the summer at the home of H. M. Wood, south of town. Mr. and Mrs. Freuob Criglar have returned from the stock reanoh and will remain here until after harvest Miss Genevieve Dickson of Walla Walla is viaiting her graudpareuts, Mr. aud Mm Jackson Nelson, west of this city. Mrs. Leeper, Mrs. Boyd and Miss Ceclle left Wednesday for Portland. The two latter will spend a couple of weeks at Seaside. H. H. Curtis, through his attoruey, W. M. Peterson has brought suit against G. W. Mitchell to recover f 05 on a promissory note. Mrs. Lafayette Chamberlain aud sou Wayne took the train last evening for Goldendale, Wash., where they will visit friends for some time. As the story goes, a lady residing in the country left some fine specimens of raspberries with "Brad" with the understanding that the fruit was to be sent to the Umatilla county booth at the Lewis and Clark exposi tion. The accusation is made that Bradley ) took the berries to his boarding place, and with a few select ed friends, ate up the whole crate. - XMrs. J.
