and the said City Treasurer has con­
sequently refused to pay same an-
less legalized by the Common Council,

deemed that the City of Bandon has
actually received full benefit and con­
sideration for every one of *aid war
rents so questioned, and that in jus­
tice to the holders thereof as weU as
for the credit of the City of Bandon

paid,
Now, therefore, in consideration of

THE CITY OF BANDON DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1—That all outstanding
general fund w’arrants of the City of
Bandon be and they arte hereby de­
clared and ordained to be legal, valid
and binding obligations of tile City
of Bandon.
Section 2—That the Treasurer of
the City be and he is hereby author
ized and directed to pay such war­
rants upon and in the order of thejr
presentation out of the proceeds of
the general funding bondB heretofore
issued and sold by the city to the full
extent to which said bond proceeds
will apply; and in case such bond pro­
ceeds are insufficent. said Treasurer
Is authorized and directed to pay
such warrants in the order of their
presentation and protest, out of the
general fund in accordance with the
charter.
Section 3—Provided, however, that
no interest shall be paid upon any
warrants or series of warrants after
the date when they were called in by
he Treasurer for payment, Febru­
ary’ 1, 1916, and provided also that
no compound interest shall be paid,
but that where general fund warrant-
have been issued to take up special
fund warrants simple interest shall be
figured upon the original principal
and amounts and payment made
thereon accordingly.
Section 4—That immediately up­
on its passage this ordinance shall be
published in the City Official paper
for two successive publications there­
of, but that nothing shall Interfere to
prevent its taking effect nor to make
its effect conditional in any way un­
less a referendum thereof is ordered
by the people.
