Wright is now getting things in readiness, prepari tory to starting the jetty work. He has made arrangemens with M. Hreu er for the use of the dock back of Mr. Hreuer's store. This dock will be used to unload the rock from the train to the scows to be transported across the river for use on the jetty work. Mr. Italph M. Weddle and Miss Nora Wilson stole a march on their friends Kriday of last week and were married, having slipped away to Co quille where the ceremony was per formed. Phil Pearson, of this city, accompanied them to the county seat and was a witness at the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Weddle left on the Eliz abeth for Ukiah, Calif, where they expect to make their future home. W. A. Savage of Portland, repre sentative of the LaFrance Fire Fight ing apparatus was in the city Wednes day night and attended the city coun cil meeting, 'and presented the propo sition for buying a firo fighting auto mobile again. This projtosition was voted down by the people at the June election and it is not unlikely that the same futc would be met again should the proposition come up again for an other vote. However a trial alone will tell.
