Mrs. Mavity was born near Knoxville, Tenn.. January 23, 1833, being 79 years, 4 months and 2 days old at the time of her death. She crossed the plains by ox team in 1854 settling first in California and later coming to Oregon. She was married twice, her last husband dying eleven years ago. Mrs. Mavity was the mother of eleven children, seven of whom sur vive her. The remains were taken to Myrtle Point Saturday noon, and funeral services were conducted in the Breth ren church, of which deceased was a member, Sunday by Elder Thos. B irklow, assisted by J. W.
