O ‘•And the angel said unto them li tr not; ‘«»i ItrholJ, I bring you good tidings of great jov, which slt.i.l lx- to all people.” The world is or should be full of joy at this time, for the Chtisttnas season is upon us. This is the time ol all the year when we shod I feel happy and light hearted, not in a vulgar or hilarious way, but in a man ner. true to the thoughts and character of noble people. At Christinas lime we remember our friends, some of them with costly gifts. In our eagerness to do this we sometimes forget the real Christmas spirit, which is to administer to the wants and needs of the needy, rather than to give costly gifts to those who may have plenty. The angel of the Lord who announced the “Good tidings of great joy” went first to the poor shepherds who were keeping watch over their Hocks by night, for it was they who were tile needy. TJien he said: “Be hold I bring you good tidings cl great joy!” and the shepherds gladly re ceived it. Then there was the heavenly host praising God and saying: ‘‘Glory to God in the highest and on earth, peace, good wiH toward men For had not a Savior been born to them? Good Tidings of Great Joy NUMBER 62 True to the Christinas spirit a arge number of the Bandon business louses have decorated their show windows in a most artistic manner and shows the enterprise of these firms. It might be added that the Christinas shopping business has been very brisk and there were never better stocks of goods to lie found any where than in Bandon. Die R ecorder has been cognizant of this fact and consequently, as all en terprising papers do, this paper has urged people to do their Christmas' buying in their home town, and peo ple have responded to the extent that both merchants and patrons arc happy over the result, and many, ex pressions of appreciation for the R e corder ’ s untiring campaign along this line have been received. We, however, take no credit on ourselves for this work, as any paper that is awake to its opportunities and has the interest of its town at heart, will urge the patronizing of home industry. Basket Ball Tonight. Remember the basket ball games at Oriental Hall tonight between the lioys’ and girls' teams of the Bandon and Coquille high schools. Both games will be good ones ind will be played with vim from start to finish. ---- noo---- When your feet are wet and cold and youro body chilled through and through from exposure, take a big dose of Chamberlain’s Cough Rem edy, bathe your feet in hot water be fore going to bed, and you are al most certain to ward off a severe cold.
